About Us
Rematt Ltd was established on 1st April 2019 and operates from our site in Darwen, Lancashire. We manufacture high-quality mattresses using new materials, alongside our ReSprung range, which incorporates professionally refurbished spring units.
In addition, we provide a mattress take-back, collection and recycling service for the retail and hospitality sectors, delivering a complete, efficient solution from production through to end-of-life management.
At Rematt, we believe a mattress should never be wasted and our business is built on a simple principle of manufacture, refurbish, reuse, recover and remanufacture wherever possible. While many in the industry treat end-of-life or damaged mattresses as waste, we see them as a valuable resource.
Our Approach
We recognise that some manufacturers require their products to be destroyed rather than reused. While we fully respect contractual and compliance obligations, our mission is to maximise reuse wherever permitted and challenge the idea that disposal should be the default.
Our goal is clear: to keep mattresses and the materials within them in circulation for as long as possible, eliminating landfill and minimising environmental impact.
We Specialise in Four Core Areas
Manufactured Mattresses & Our ReSprung Range
Alongside manufacturing mattresses from entirely new materials, we produce our ReSprung range combining brand-new comfort layers and ticking with fully refurbished and sanitised spring units. This approach delivers high-quality products while significantly reducing material consumption.
Refurbishment
Where a mattress can be safely restored, we refurbish it to extend its life, preventing unnecessary destruction and offering a more sustainable alternative to replacement.
Material Recovery & Recycling
For mattresses that cannot be reused, we carefully deconstruct them to recover as many components as possible. These materials are prioritised for reuse in mattress manufacturing, either within our own production or supplied back into the industry. Where reuse in mattresses isn't suitable, materials are redirected into other applications to ensure nothing is wasted.
Collection Services for Retail & Hospitality
We support retailers and hospitality providers with a reliable collection service for returned and end-of-use mattresses. Every item is assessed for refurbishment first, then recovery ensuring maximum value is extracted and landfill is avoided.
